About a Monday

Part One:

I went to the DMV today...the second time this year, because for the second time this year, I lost my driver's license. That is one the best places to people watch, and it was hopping today. At one point the guy sitting next to me turns to me and says, "I have to do this every year. Take it from me, don't ever commit a felony." No lie. Words of wisdom, you know, in case any of you were thinking of committing a felony.

On a somewhat related noted, since I went to the DMV expecting a long wait, my purse was packed to the brim. Usually, it's just wallet, phone, and keys, and maybe a pen. Today, however, I figured I might need some extra entertainment. Pictured: Some reading material, keys, car registration and insurance, passport, brush, sunnies, pens, wallet, hand sanitizer, and some old receipts/ticket stubs. Along with my phone (which I was using to take this picture), I was all set to wait two hours for a grand total of 5 minutes of actual service.

Part Two:

I saw the movie Crazy, Stupid, Love this afternoon because it's hot as blazes outside and the last movie I saw was HP 7.1, and I really need to move on with my life (and, and, and). I really don't like 95% of romantic comedies because they're too predictable, picture-perfect, and so not how life usually happens, but I gave this one a chance. For the first half of the movie, I didn't like the direction it was headed at all. Although, looking at Ryan Gosling was a nice consolation.  BUT the plot kind of turned at one point, and I ended up really enjoying it. Underneath some very worldly, not-so-great things, there are some good messages in there, and it definitely kept me interested the whole time. And ladies...Ryan Gosling.

There were a few great moments in the above movie, but the most swoon-worthy was when one of the characters called his buddy and said, "I met a girl...she's a gamechanger." I'll let you guess who said that one.
