I made sure to take lots of pictures at ACL on Friday. Austin's unofficial motto is "Keep Austin Weird", and this music festival is where you see that in all its glory. We're talking solid gold people watching for hours on end. There's a lot of strange folk here, but it's one of the things I love most about this town.
One of the entrances to get in. This is right after it rained!
The sea of bikes, which is a huge part of Austin culture.
I love the sky in this photo.
This is just one of about 10 different stages!
Brandi Carlile. I've been listening to her music for years,
and I finally got to see her live. Verdict: she's even more awesome in person.

Mr. Ray LaMontagne.
Scenery
Sara Bareilles. She is super cute, sounds incredible live,
and also curses like a sailor. I love her.
A close up that I sent to a friend in Seattle who hearts Sara Bareilles.
This is my friend Tim.
We went to college together and were a part of the same ministry.
Then he went to Los Angeles and became a big deal.
But seriously, he actually is kind of a big deal there.
It was so good to see him!
This is what Coldplay looked like from very far back. I could barely even see the screens.
And this is what it would have looked like closer. Oh well, I don't really even like Coldplay that much. I did watch clips of their performance later though, and I will say
they do put on a high-energy, entertaining show.
Here's a blurry picture looking towards the stage Kanye West was playing on with down town in the background. It's not a good pic, but I like the colors. I listened to a little Kanye and then heard him as I was walking to my car. He sounded great!
And finally, a little video of Sara Bareilles covering Cee-Lo's "Forget You", except "Forget" is the word they use so it can be played on the radio. With that I say, if cursing offends you, don't watch the video. That is my disclaimer. Don't e-mail me.
'Twas quite a full day but a thoroughly enjoyable one!
